Between this one and cask 1145 52.4% I think this is a little better balance wise and scores a little higher

This is really nice and fruity, with good balance and the slight sweetness mixed with the fruit is a bonus

A lively fruity nose is my first thought.
Ripe plum, melon, mulled wine spice, blackcurrant, dark raisins, and then a little black olive.
    • Taste
      92 92
Creamy, spicy and fizzy palate with a little caramel, date and walnut.
A little pistachio and then some dry smoked ham, hints of bacon.
The sherry is really good and mixes with dark plum and blackcurrant, good balance on show

Long finish, retains its power, sweetness & spice.

With water the nose gets a few orange notes but basically the same, and the palate gets more rounded, sweeter with a little bubblegum and Turkish Delight

Great nose, good taste, mediocre finish.
    • Nose
Cantaloupe and galia melon. Coconut, papaya, honey, cane and a little blood orange.
    • Taste
More of that blood orange. A stout-like maltiness. Mint, pepper, coconut, melon and honey.
    • Finish
More of that beer note. Musty old nuts.

Difficult to tame the nose. The mouth is very very marked by the wood. It cleans the gums !! a nice malt but not a crush.
    • Nose
Very powerful and very Armagnac. Macerated grapes, old wood, blond tobacco, wood wax, lots of spices.
    • Taste
A lot of wood! The mouth is quite sweet, sweet limit. A lot of dried fruits: dates, figs. More wood and also coffee.
    • Finish
Long on the same aromas as the mouth

  8. MacMenM scored this whisky 94 points Expert Senior

    fantastic whisky, hard to find
    • Nose
a whole bunch of fruits, apricots, peaches, prunes and and and ..., spices as mint, honey, old furniture wax, what a nose
    • Taste
cinnamon and pepper, all kinds of cooked red fruits, candy sugar, honey, wax
    • Finish
long, very long, fruits and honey, some bitterness
