Well I guess I have to sit down again for this one to give it another shot. I really do not understand the high score this one is getting. This is one of those whiskies that doesn’t seem to make any sense at all.
    • Nose
A weird and off nose giving me aceton/nail polish, acid, sour butter, pine trees that are on fire and some kind of cheap rum flavor. These are not particularly combinations I can connect to a delicious experience whatsoever…
    • Taste
A taste giving a weird warm bodied and soft impression and giving weird flavors again like ‘instant glue’, again cheap rum, some kind of rum raisins and something like those budget brand corn flakes soaked in milk. After a while the alcohol kicks in, giving it even more an out of balance experience.
    • Finish
Rather long (but not so positive here). Again that ‘instant glue’ flavor, old bread crumbs, cheap rum and schnapps.

Nope, this is definitely not my cup of tea. I did everything with the dram. Time, hand warmth, water, more time but it doesn’t seem to affect the experience. I might give it another try but first I’ll need to find the courage to do so…

Fiesty and fiery. Burns the palate with average flavours.

    Official tasting notes:

Nose: Milk bottle sweets, buttercream icing, marzipan, hints of high ester rums, some acetone; pear drops, melon, preserved lemons.

Palate: Creamy with a touch of ‘souring’ butter, plenty of vanilla, some floral notes and a touch of citrus salinity

Finish: Round and creamy, Creme Patissiere , vanilla crème brûlée some burnt demerara
