Whisky Reviews for Glenlivet 1996 vW
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 81.89 points
- A pleasant whisky that is light and superficial if you compare it with the Glenlivet 1998 16 Year of The Ultimate. The two years less ripening resulted in a much fruity whisky that is perfectly suited to have in your glass on a balmy summer evening.
A fruity, spicy and well balanced whisky with notes of raisins, sherry, red fruit, cognac, hint to liquorice, apple, pear, pear candies, caramel, fresh figs, dates, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, oak, soft tannin, cocoa, liquorice and herbs.
A warm, sweet, fruity and balanced whisky with notes of sherry, white pepper, caramel, blueberries, hint of raspberry, cognac, apple, pear, pineapple, hint of green banana, oak, tannin, liquorice, cinnamon, some nutmeg, soft bitter chocolate and spicy oaks.
A medium long, warm and slightly drying aftertaste with notes of sweet sherry, dates, caramel, pear, pepper and soft chocolate.
- The colour is red copper and the nose has raisins, fruit, spices, liquorice and apple; the palate is warm, full and fruity, with some soft spicy woodiness and dark chocolate! The finish is long and warming.
- Monolithic, without much interest. Too much ventilation maybe?
