- Overall, a very drinkable dram with some layers but probably should have more complexity after 42 years. That said, it was certainly not over-woody. 87
Initially strong in alcohol, despite being only 43%, but then opened up with some grassy and herbal notes with a touch of honey and light spice. Hints of Plasticine and wood polish. Very little wood despite being 42 years old. With water little change apart from bringing out the herbal & spicy notes more.
Earthy taste, slightly astringent. Warm, spicy taste with some honeyed sweetness. Slightly oily mouthfeel which coats the tongue.
Finish, medium long and drying with a hint of mint and a smidgen of smoke.
- Tasting Notes by SCOMA :
Nose: Sweet, fragrant with strong fruity notes.
Taste: Plenty Sherry. Traces of figs and dates. Slight smokiness and ozone.
Finish: Light smokiness.
