A very nice whisky. Old and matured, this is clearly noticeable, the oak is clearly perceptible, but not unpleasant. Many interwoven flavors that flash and alternate again and again. Great, fun, that's how I understand complexity
    • Nose
freshly poured: strong malty and black tea, a little later then malty, cane sugar, slightly musty, dry moldy wood, in between always a few solvents, a light citrus aroma, some menthol, but also prunes, a touch of coconut and bananas and again in between the forest honey
    • Taste
The maltiness is also present immediately, as well as black tea and brown cane sugar, forest honey, but then also the moldy dry oak, slightly bitter, a little vermouth and a few herbs
    • Finish
the vermouth and the herbs, as well as the oak remain, in addition to the malty and an orange note

      21
    • Taste
Classic bourbon: vanilla, fudge, dried fruit compote, a bit of oak, honey, vanilla and caramel

Medium short Continuation of taste: vanilla, dried apricots, a little oak

Nose: soft and round, oceanic, salty, light brine, oatmeal, dried apricots, some honey, hay. Taste: very oceanic, lots of salt and lots of brine, more honey, fresh apricot, hints of pear, light malt, farm field. Finish: very long and malty, warm oatmeal with honey, grasses, hints of chocolate. Comments: very good and very complex. It evolves nicely from nose through finish.

good stuff for sure, but I prefer the 17yo
    87/100
    • Nose
rather sweet with tinned fruits like pears and mandarins. buttery - creamy touch, slightly salty and a sherry influence that does not suit this whisky. I´m missing a coastal and mineral side that I found in the 12er and the 17er.
    • Taste
very fruity, sherry influence with dates and golden raisins. banana, pineapple. hints of nutmeg and ginger.
    • Finish
      long, slightly gingery

He has a really strong maritime, salty note. Great. I have not had too many malts like that yet. This slightly sour / mineral, but balanced in itself. Something sweet that reminds me of fairground is also there. The flavors are all rather subtle, but I still like to keep my trunk clean, because the smell is just right. The taste is very mild. Again the maritime note is there. Reminiscent of salted peanuts ... The finish is a bit stormier and very own. I like it. There is this spice of the oak, which lingers beautifully, a little sweetness with honey and a few herbs are also there. Solid colleague. I like it.

    • Finish
