Pears, pepper, more orchard fruits, malt, vanilla, grape skin, lemon. It's clearly young, but the nose is very pleasant and the palate opens up nicely with a few drops of water. Very promising.

Fruity in the nose, just as in the taste; but no complexity; the youthful sharpness can still be clearly felt on the tongue and palate.
The direction seems to be clearly on the light fruity side. Too young at the moment; In a few years it will certainly be more interesting.
It's just very one-dimensional... in my opinion, other young distilleries do it better (with the exception of GlenWyvis, who in my opinion exaggerate the sour aromas).
Just too young at the moment; Sample is enough for now.
    [81 - 78 = 'ok' whisky -> but do I need a whole bottle?]
    • Nose
      84 84
floral, artificial fruit flavors (gummy bears), sweetish. A hint of coconut milk with honey and vanilla. Citrus moment but very restrained.
Over time, a sweetish pear can be recognized from the fruity. The alcohol pushes quite a bit in the nose.
Grassy, partly hay notes in the background, or if you get closer to the glass; but then it almost turns into a barn smell, but before that it just gets the curve.
    • Taste
      81 81
fresh, fruity, pear, green (sour) apple. The youthful 46% can be felt on the tongue. Bitter note out the back.
Second sip: even more fruity; seems more voluminous now, but the 46% teases even more than with the first sip...uh ha. A little spiciness, slightly bitter note again; but it also tends towards bitterness.
    • Finish
      78 78
Wood tannins, the fruitiness disappears quite quickly. Green hazel emerges; that's where the Oloroso comes into play - but unfortunately a bit too short. This means that this "green moment" in the mouth is the last thing to remember - but unfortunately that doesn't have a positive association for me.

I was really excited to see what the young distillery can conjure up. Either the malt is too young for me or it just doesn't hit my nerve. In my subjective opinion, this is not yet a competitive product in the price range. But feel free to form your own opinion.

Freshly poured Williams Christ pear. Well, hopefully that will happen... 10 minutes later the suspicion that it could be single malt :)
Notes of fresh, rather unripe light fruit, some grass, a hint of citrus, sweet but all very subtle. Later I imagine a little more floral notes, but they are very fleeting. In comparison, a perceptible, not ideally integrated alcohol. Hence the Obstler association.
    • Taste
      57 57
A little sharpness on the tongue, more than 46% should give. Then comes some sweetness (honey) and again volatile fruit with vanilla. Oak spice takes over, acidity and bitterness are noticeable. Not harmonious.
    • Finish
      58 58
Grapefruit and vanilla dominate briefly and concisely, then the short chapter of the finish closes. Exhaling through the nose would give a nice aroma if it weren't for that grapefruit on the tongue.

    S 6
Medium leg. A very average, quaffable whisky with no sparking point even with multiple robust casks. Is it the strength? The age? The cask activeness?

    [71-77] Worth a try.

    N 25
At first, it can be quite astringent, but flavours, especially those from Sherry, gradually unfold as it breathes. Fresh loaf. Dry fruit bits. Strawberry jam. Wood bitterness. More vanilla and honey are coming out from the background. Soft spices.

    P 23
Way less sweet than expected. Warm and delicate. Toasted malt. Mild honey. Buttery oak. black pepper, cardamom. A touch of wood dryness. Fresh, crispy orchard fruits (red apple, yellow pear).

    F 23
Short-mid, slightly dry finish. Mild spices and fresh loaf. A hint of fruits wax lingering.

... strong aroma of pear syrup and fruit candy, followed by hints of savory jam and cinnamon.
    • Taste
      88 88
.. Notes of fresh fruit and cereals typical of Lochlea with lush light maple syrup.
    • Finish
      80 80
Macadamia nuts, cream soda with notes of vanilla and a wonderfully lingering note of orange beeswax.

Well done for a young single malt. You can find out more about my impressions here: https://fosm.de/tasting-lochlea-our-barley/
    • Nose
Very fine and mild with lots of fruit. Especially pear is noticeable with malt and syrup. The fine spiciness indicates a depth that he cannot have at his young age. A hint of orange peel.
    • Taste
A fine spicy sweetness with a hint of pepper. A robust body with vanilla, breakfast cereal and orange.
    • Finish
This is where the STR casks make themselves felt with their spiciness. After a while, the mouth becomes dry.
