I recently drank a maltbarn port Charlotte but it is 20 years old and not sure of the fill number of bourbon cask.
This definitely do not look like a bourbon cask matured on the color! Wow look like a refill sherry cask or you guys added coloring into it! The color did wow me, and I checked that it is first-fill ex bourbon barrel, I wonder how the color come about!

The taste was very strong, not for the faint heart, I let it air a little and also explore adding water( good option for consumer when you bottle at cask strength). Without adding water I'm tasting sweet, vanilla, nutty, slightly oily texture.
Finish is very familar lightly smoked notes, dry, strong, the

I added water and it open up more flavor for me on the first tasting.
The nose with water bring out some Flora notes that I wasn't able to get without water/airing.
Taste was sweeter, gentler, maybe I added too much water
Finish had a metallic notes in the beginning, dry then it stays in my mouth for a very long time!
    Absolutely fantastic

Palate: Smoked almonds, caperberries, olive oil, pickle brine, harissa warmth. Very salty with smoked fish, fresh oregano, black peppercorns & green peppercorns in brine.

Finish: Long, farmy and delicious (if you like weird a weird peaty farmy mouth feel…)
