    http://www.weinkenner.de/2014/vier-1996er-malts-von-glendronach-im-direkten-vergleich-31860/ Color: Madeira
Nose: Round, full and balanced. Notes of fruity-sweet oranges and lemons, great combination of tobacco, leather, chocolate and balsamic cream, which is slightly smoky with rather less spice.
Taste: Soft and thick-creamy, with lots of sweet red fruit and tough chocolate pudding. More and more powerful and intense, but also salty, with delicious nut flavors and almond liqueur, which go hand in hand with well-embedded wood notes and perfectly round off the taste.
Finish: Long - with notes as in the taste, only a little more intense. Wood flavors with black tea are increasingly coming to the fore. Everything packed well, with memories of old cognac and spicy herbs.
    90 points (nose: 89 / taste: 91 / finish: 89)

My tasting note below is a combination of a few notes. This one is from a Glendronach Single Cask blind tasting.

bottling seems is more enjoyable for me with a fresh palate, next to
others, especially heavier & stronger Glendronachs, it feels a bit
on the thin & sweet side.

Transferring previous Note (2011.12.21) content into a Tasting Note.
    • Nose
Kalua (coffee liquor), vulcanized rubber, sandy/earthy, wood/antique, sweet sherry with a slightly sour element (89)
    • Taste
syrupy chocolate, a touch of smoke, waxy (90)
    • Finish
granite, coconut, black tea tannins, feels shorter than others (89)

    A very nice Daily Dram
    • Nose
massive Sherry, wood, bitter chocolate and a bit pepper
    • Taste
a lot of sweet sherry and wood, a bit spicy, very hugh and complex
    • Finish
first palate is very sharp, but the 2nd taste is very nice, little bit oily/silky very warming, at the edn again very bitter chocolate

    • Nose
      Sweet sherry ++, wood ( oak & mahagony) +/o, chocolate marshmallows +/o, red wine & red grapes o, (wet) earth o, fresh/peeled apricots o, cinamon plums o, spices (hard to place, cloves & curry ?) o/-, butter o/- (91)
    • Taste
sweet sherry +, wood o, chocolate o, spices o, gravy o, reminds me a bit of the Glendronach 15 Revival but much more sweet, voluminous & complex, quite a few dry tannins & even a smoke note inbetween, (92)
    • Finish
great 2nd wave/palate comeback, similar but much more silky & full/broad than the first, impressive. (sun) warmed wood +, sandelwood/sweet licorice +/o, marshmallows o, spices (cloves) o, (93) unfortunately the sour/bitter tannin notes which worked well on the palate for me come back most of the time at the very end as well which don't quite fit in here for me and give it a metallic feel from time to time (88)
