    Color: Auburn.
    ABV: 45%.

Nose: Bright fuseliness, vanilla, spices, pastries, dried bananas. [n19]

Taste: Scalding milk chocolate, from orange acid it turns into sweetness of baking (very interesting), sweetness of cinnamon sugar. [t20]

Finish: Short and fusiform. Oak and dried bananas. [f16]

Balance: I expected the worst from this price category. Fusel at the same time and spoils interesting flavoring scales, but also makes the drink more bold and refreshing. In the taste is a very interesting transition from citrus acid to the sweetness of a cake or biscuit. A drop of water does not remove the fouling and it suppresses other aromas and tastes - do not add water. Aftertaste utter nonsense, after such a sweet and sour bouquet in the taste I want to finish something interesting, and comes fussiness with bananas. Quickly comes, quickly leaves. [b19]

    Score n + t + f + b: 74

Good bourbon for a very affordable price. According to Wikipedia Bulleit Bourbon is a Diageo brand of Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey that is characterized by having a high rye content for a bourbon (at approximately 28% of the mash bill) and being aged at least six years.
    • Nose
Lots of sweet vanilla. Corn. Cinnamon. Some citrus fruit and bananas. Flowery notes. Classic bourbon style for me.
    • Taste
Juicy and smooth with a nice little alcohol tingle. Custard pudding. Soft oakiness. Caramel. Ginger. The spiciness of rye is noticeable.
    • Finish
Medium long. Full flavors of vanilla, tobacco, and leather.

Pretty good bourbon for very clear money.
    • Nose
Fuselian colors dominate, interspersed with ripe orange cake, chocolate baked goods, caramel and cinnamon, maple syrup and oak.
    • Taste
It is revealed with pepper-flavored orange, milk chocolate with caramel, and tobacco topics.
    • Finish
Poor and short, biting peppers with chocolate chips.

    Color: dark gold.
    Body: medium density, oily.
Nose: sweet-perfumy at first, turns to sour-salt after standing. The flavor is not flat and develops over time. In the foreground, paintwork, perfumes, dried bananas, figs, coconut stand out against the background of spices (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg) and cigar smoke. Then the intensity of the alcohols subsides and reveals toffee, salted caramel, muffins (muffins), cashews, cream soda (soda), baked milk, dark chocolate marmalade jelly, oxidized copper.
Palate: Sweet, buttery, creamy, slightly scorching and astringent from spices and young oak tannins. Taste sensations drift from the sweetness of milk chocolate, dried bananas, baked apples and dried figs, baked goods through orange peel to a wave of spice and woody notes.
Finish: seriously inferior to aromatics and taste both in intensity and duration of development. Dry, ginger, pepper, light smoke, burnt sugar, prunes, dried bananas.
As a result, we have a smoothly cut, well-balanced, pleasant bourbon, which costs reasonable money and is quite recommended for purchase.

    • Finish

It's a classic bourbon which tastes good enough to drink neat as well as in cocktails.
The aftertaste is pretty pleasant and lingers.

Since this brand has taken me to rye, the bourbon has made an equally good impression on me. I had a stronger version, 45%, which may have helped good result. The same strength was the rye.
    • Nose
Leather, oranges, cinnamon, chocolate, dried banana, savory wood, liquorice. Warm, without perfume, thinners and similar American attractions. (85 b)
    • Taste
Even the taste is smooth, with honey, wood, chocolate, cloves, cinnamon. (85 b)

Bourbon of good quality, with a relatively high percentage of rye. Purchased initially as a base of cocktails, it is however pleasant enough to consume as is or on ice.

    Rather suitable for mixing
    • Nose
Very full and mild. Honey, toasted oak and cereal notes.
    • Taste
Very strong and robust with rye and spicy oak. Followed by honey, a little vanilla and rather less sweetness. This Bulleit looks sharp, a few drops of water are good for him.
    • Finish
For its 45%, the finish is surprisingly light and slightly dry. The medium-long finish is also slightly smoky.

A great nose, and ok mouth and a poor finish. Tough one to score.. Really liked the nose but the rest is too disappointing to pretend to an higher score.
    • Nose
Sweet, some vanilla but not too much. A bit herbal, with some spices from the rye. Quite complex in fact. Some fruits (bananas). Also some burnt oak notes.
      Really a nice nose.
    • Taste
Nice attack, on dry notes, becomes a bit more bitter on spices later on. Not as complex as the nose. But it's netheir too sugarry nor vanilled, and the ABV is great, so let's say it's ok.
    • Finish
      Fades away quite quickly.

    Color: Mahogany red

Nose: sweet stuff. vanilla. Oaky notes, some cinnamon as well. spice (can’t put my finger on which exactly but it’s definitely there) – mostly attributed to the usage of rye , i would say. The rye is there , it’s not shouting but it can not be overlooked. some Fennel aromas are also detectable.

Palate: Sweet woody candy combined with spice best describes it. Spicy tingles on the tongue, and a rather drying feeling on the aftertaste.

Finish: Drying and woody. Medium length. Nice.

    Summing it up:

This is a nice Bourbon. I did like the extra complexity and tastes that come from the usage of Rye in quite a heavy dose (27%, remember?). It’s not over spicy, and the sweet-spice-vanilla-wood combination is rather appealing. I’m not a huge bourbon fan now, but i do think this one is somehow nicer than some of the Bourbons i did sample recently.

Price wise : At $30 or £20 it’s fairly priced, but not very cheap. In some US shops you can get it for as low as 20$ which is a steal. At that price i’d surely get a bottle for those hot summer days. But since i do get most of my drams from UK merchants, the £20 + shipping is a not that cheap…

Bulleit (or Diageo to be more exact) have built a nice site for their product, but for some reason, the site lacks many facts about the bourbon, missing are also tasting notes. What you can find there are nice cocktails that can be made with the spirit, although i do prefer my Whiskies and Bourbons straight. I do find it a bit sad that they mainly think of their product as worthy of cocktails only, and do not include a section for those interested in the spirit as a stand alone dram.

This is probably distilled by Four Roses, but it is a Diageo product.
