Ahhh, nice, very much suits my taste with the Tropico bomb, excitingly framed by its own nose and a nice more oaky finish, great.
    • Nose
Freshly polished and oiled lace-up shoes, cheese platter, salt also immediately noticeable, makes your own mix / start, but with time the fruit comes, peach, red apple, noticeable, fresh anise, almonds, macadamia, fresh blossom honey, marzipan, tick coffee beans, a little truffle oil, later also blood orange
    • Taste
Wow, great exotic, where does it suddenly come from now? Passion fruit juice freshly squeezed, papaya and mango, I had it so intensely almost only with rum cask Irish, white grapefruit, ginger juice, camphor, lemongrass, fresh coffee beans, ester notes, banana ice cream, vanilla, light toffee, light raisins, very intense and full for 43 %
    • Finish
Anise, eucalyptus, licorice, salt, grapefruit, green apple, long, nicely rounded and yet striking

  2. Jack Marinello scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Very fruity, exotic fruits, some wood, varnish.
    • Taste
Hyper fruity, very exotic, mango, banana. Wow!
    • Finish
      Good length

Bought this in 2011 for just over 100 gbp, worth every penny. Still enjoying it very much, didn't suffer from 6 years open. Now allmost ready to be killed unfortunitly...

the nose is sublime, a pity that the final is so dry. Very good whisky by the way!
    • Nose
A superb nose of yellow fruits galore, wax, honey, top!
    • Taste
Sweet and unctuous attack on the yellow fruits, then the bitterness of the wood is felt, very tannic in its development
    • Finish
Dry, too dry, honey and fruits are still present in the back of the mouth.

  7. Hare&Copper scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Dusty drawers. Tropical fruit, wax and honey. Perfumed/floral (in a nice way)
    • Taste
Intense fruitiness. Boysenberry jam. Soft smoke and sherry coming through later.
    • Finish
Fruit carries on. Toasty oak and spice.

  8. dankin scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Bags full of fruits (apple, mirabelles, raisins, banana and pear). In addition spices like Zimmt and nutmeg. Some solvent in the background.
    • Taste
Spicy onset, then sweeter. Lakrize and again lots of fruits. Light smoke. For 43% pretty strong.
    • Finish
Warming and slowly fading away. The spices stay in place and slowly fade out. Slightly bitter.

  9. alectron scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

This probably would have been mind blowing at vatting strength... as is, it suffers a bit and feels a tad thin.
    • Nose
musty, old malt, nice mixture of stewed fruits (persimmons, papaya, yellow apricots & peaches as well as some red/berries), some vanilla pods, some beeswax, some faint rubber. (91)
Later: turns a tad greener, and a bit less diverse (89)
    • Taste
cool, alc a tad sharp despite the low alc, stewed & fresh fruits (less than on the nose), white chocolate, old malt, musty, some spices. (89)
Later: develops some (soapy) bitterness and some cosmetics/powder notes next to the above, weird. (85)
    • Finish
more malt & fruits, turning more exotic, but all quite timid/shy, hints at some mango & passionfruit, faint mint, very faint smoke occasionally. (92)
Later: bitterness continues into the finish & echoes seem less complex, less fruits, more white chocolate.. (89)

  10. Sonett scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Coconut, concentrated orangejuice, also a bit of yeast and wax
    • Taste
Light and warming with soft and elegant spices
    • Finish
Long finish with a oaky taste that at the very end goes more towards old wood.
