Good but let's not exaggerate, it lacks a bit of complexity.

This is allright but lacks complexity for 16 years. It feels more like an harsher and younger Glen Scotia... My expectation were high since I love the 16 at 46% but not matched... I prefer the standard bottling, more complex and just better overall...

I think many of us rate whiskies higher by respect of the distillery and the limited releases than just focusing on the juice itself no matter the context...

    • Nose

A sweet nose, not very complex, but enjoyable nonetheless. Light white fruits and citrus, generic sugary sweetness, a very slight funky edge.
    • Taste
      87 87
Light fruit, citrus, sugar sweets, a clear pinch of alcohol. Again fine in it's own right but the regular 16 (though also being a light style of whisky) has some more complexity.
    • Finish
      86 86
Short to medium in length: sweet lighter fruit notes, some citrus, quite peppery.

Unfortunately a disappointing bottling. The rum cask doesn't harmonize as well with the malt as other casks have done in recent years.
