Whisky Reviews for Inverleven 1991 GM
12 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.28 points
- Notes from a 2nd bottle.
This is a little better than the last time I tried it, it is not too weak this time but a score of 85 points is still about right.
Lots of cereal and barley notes in this one.
- [March, 2014] I had this dram during a "Lowlands" rarities tasting at Bonn.
my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50
- 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 82,5.
My notes state a light profile on citrus and honey aromas. Both the body and finish are a litlle flat (maybe due to the low abv).
- I like the Inverleven profile but at 40% this is too weak for me.
Expressive with notes of coffee, butter, honey, a little chocolate and whiffs of cigar smoke.
A little thin with some sugary coffee sweetness, honey and biscuit.
There is a little lemon and caramel mixed with hints of orange.
Medium length getting sweeter.
- Very nice Inverleven, nice blend of spice, bourbon and light sherry in the taste
Honey, licorice, light sherry, grassy, citrus in between
Lemon, oak, heather, white pepper, liquorice again, toffee, almond marzipan
Citrus, lemongrass, orange peel, dry, medium long
- Blind tasting.
Citrus - lemon, some smoke and ashes. Candle wax, fruity, vanilla, pastry, butter, meaty - gravy and pepper.
Peper, mint, spices, some smoke and pastry. Cactus, almond paste and marzipan.
Fruity, spices - white pepper, gooseberries, herbs and vanilla.
- 86/87. As Martin already mentioned, if you can find this one at its original price it's a very recommended purchase.
Pretty oily with a clear bourbon influence. Apple, vanilla, marzipan, straw, peach and in the long run some caramel. A little touch of Badedas shower gel.
Surprisingly full-bodied for its low ABV. Butterscotch, straw, vanilla, apple and pepper. More creamy than the nose, less fruity. Very nice texture.
Almond, butterscotch and apple. A bourbon-like mintiness in the end.
