A Bowmore actually has a fine smoky note.
    This one is not.
Something smells like onions in the background.
    Not a nice scent.

    The tastes old, musty.
    Cold smoke on the tongue.
He is now spicy, much like the Amrut.

Relatively long finish, but not tasty.
    No, that's nothing ...

  2. Alex Fridays scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

    Colour: amber
Nose: delicate peated smoke, oak, sweet fruits, spices, light salt, ripe fruits, dust, vanilla.
Mouth: dust, delicate peated smoke, sweet fruits, spices.
Finish: long, delicate peated smoke, dust, dryness, ripe fruits.
Bowmore Surf has a perfect balance between peatness and ripe fruits sweetness.

slightly subtle smoke, generally quite light and fresh, fruity, yellow fruit, some grapefruit, mint, straw, has a sour taste, I have to think of yogurt, after the first sip, the nose is creamy, vanilla is added
    • Taste

Uncomplicated, but not boring, but balanced in every way and round.
    • Nose
Light and floral, with hints of orange and lemon. Very mild smoke, a little maritime freshness.
    • Taste
On the tongue, the smoke comes through stronger. Gorgeous sweet with salmiak and orange peel. Cooling mint, strawberry chocolate. Spicy honey and vanilla, behind it also some oak.
    • Finish
Medium long, tart-sweet, dry, with cool smoke, oranges and back liquorice.

  9. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

At that time faire 30 € / liter, a neat Islay beginner.
In the direct comparison Legend / Surf I find the surf a little more edgy, smoky, maritime, the legend is rounder, sweeter.
    • Nose
clear smoke, dry, ash, brackish water, boiled cauliflower, in between always a fresh breeze, which I can not quite classify, sometimes more salty, sometimes it reminds of mint, freshly cut grass
    • Taste
Smoke, charcoal, something burnt plastic (all clear, but much milder than the South Coastislays), behind it a little honey / caramel (the longer in the mouth, the clearer) ... and again a tingle on the tongue ... Pepper, salt , Carbonic acid
    • Finish
medium long, ashen, bittersweet, and also here it tingles
