Whisky Reviews for Caribou Crossing Single Barrel

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.29 points

  1. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

I like it a lot, but I also suffer from 40%, with a little more steam it could be a really good one. Also one that you can pour yourself, even if the rest of the nose lags behind a bit.
    • Nose
Sweet, vanilla, spices, nutmeg, beautiful multi-layered oak notes, all softly sweet and pleasing, but tasty and fun to smell, since it also has a nice depth.
    • Taste
soft and mild, no wonder at 40%, just a little toffee, a lot of vanilla and a lot of oak, but not the tart variant, but the pleasantly sweet-spicy one.
    • Finish
slightly dry, the oak shows up, unfortunately a little hairspray as an off-note, otherwise on vanilla and oak with a slightly tart edge at the end.

  2. Ralph Hiltrup scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Tasting notes by John Hansell for Whisky Advocate Magazine

The flavors are straightforward-primarily vanilla, with some crème
brulee, toasted marshmallow, tangerine, peaches & cream, and gentle
rye spice-but they are clean and well-balanced. A delicious,
lighter-style whisky just in time for warm weather.Advanced Malt Advocate magazine rating: 93
