Whisky Reviews for Macallan 1992
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.28 points
- Nose: Sherry, ripe fruits, a bit acidic, baked banana with honey, a tiny bit sulphur and a tiny bit rubberMouth: slight Sherry, a bit alcoholicFinish: Sherry, a little bit wood and tanins/bitter, a bit nutty, grassy, the sherry gives a little bit sweetness but in general rather dryComment: Nose is quite nice, but the taste falls flat - nothing special really. The wee alcoholic note in the mouth and the slight bitterness in the finish is a minus. The standard Macallan Sherry cask is better for less money imo.
- The real sherry richness reveils it self much later, then it's got a lot offer. Time and a little water are the keys to this fine Macallan.
Estery - citrus fruit, and dried fruit (reduced: vanilla/butterscotch very rich and aromatic).
Mouth coating, light sweet (reduced: dry, oaky and creamy).
Long, warm and yet soft, woodspices and quite full.
