YosemiteSam assumed that this might be a Linkwood. I don't think so because there is also a Linkwood, released in 2022: WB208279.

Why should Ferg Harris release a disclosed and nondisclosed Linkwood in the same year?

Finally a Speysider with a finish on a sherry cask that can captivate me. This is probably a Linkwood.
    • Nose
      86 86
Aromas of dark fruit, raisins, plums, leather and chocolate.
    • Taste
      87 87
The mouthfeel is completely in line with the nose, dark fruit, raisins, plums, leather and chocolate. The whisky is nicely balanced. The alcohol is present, but nicely integrated into the whisky.
    • Finish
      87 87
The aftertaste is medium long with a spiciness of the oak. The sherry lingers wonderfully.

Tasted at the Blair Horse Trials 2022 as part of a charity tasting moderated by Ewan Mcillwraith, owner of Robertson's of Pitlochry and renowned judge on spirit competitions all over the world.
    • Nose
Intense dark fruit aromas, plums, raisins, leather and toasty aromas, dark chocolate
    • Taste
Mouth-filling with well-integrated alcohol and the aromas that have already inspired the nose.
Refined with birch water from the Highlands, the aromas change to cherry and leather notes with a velvety creaminess (3-4 drops)
    • Finish
Undiluted, a medium-long, warming finish with clear oak and strong, spicy sherry notes.

A well done sherry finish on a bold Speyside malt believed to be a backbone of the White Horse blend

Big sherry bomb. Intense with tones of dried fruit, some dry tannins and a touch of cacao.

Dry, tannic, bitterness. Little suphur. Not my kind of sherry bomb taste.

  8. LeChiffre scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

It doesn't really do anything wrong, an intense, delicious sherry bomb. But also kind of boring.
    • Nose
dark fruits; raisins; dates; figs; cocoa powder; Oak wood
    • Taste
sweet-spicy; powerful; dark fruits; a lot of chocolate; some pepper; Oak
    • Finish
spicy; dried fruits; some leather; Cocoa bitter-tart oak

Quite simple, but very tasty. Wonderful nose with Chocolate, Toffee and Raisins. Palate the same but a bit one-dimensional. If it had more depth, it would be fantastic – you can taste it's "just" a PX-finish.
