This is a well-balanced, easy sipper without it ever becoming monotonous.
    • Nose
Opens up on a tinge of caramel, marzipan, some orange liqueur and After Eight, but also fresh berries, Werther's Original and a whisper of honey.
    • Taste
Quite creamy with some gentle spices, a tinge of dry oak and more orange liqueur. There's also a whisper of smoke and mint, followed by molasses and toffee.
    • Finish
It fades quickly, more so than expected. Slightly drying with a gentle sweetness.

I'm not a big fan of blended scotch, especially the grain part. At least 47% single malts are said to have been used here. In addition, a fairly complex barrel composition that is almost typical of Billy Walker. And yes, it turned out to be an interesting blend for me. Rather an easy drinker. And not really cheap, but still okay priced.
I could not identify the Islay portion and the quoted peat smoke in the aroma. For me this bottling is unpeated.

Red and black currants, cherries, honey, icing, plus spices. The grain note is well hidden in the background.
    • Taste
      85 85
The currants and honey flare up briefly upon entry, then it gets pretty nutty. The European oak takes over. In addition espresso and something bitter grapefruit. Overall juicy at first, then becoming drier, but fading quickly

The finish also fades quickly. In the back, the bottling doesn't quite keep what the nose and palate promise. There is a lack of intensity here with a 2cl dram. But a lot helps a lot here. After the second dram, enough aromas have now settled so that the blend fades away on the red fruits, chocolate and honey.

Yes, what is that? I find the nose very appealing, dark and complex. The taste, on the other hand, doesn't really appeal to me, but the finish and especially the aftertaste is very appealing. I have the impression that I don't like the blend itself very much, but the casks and the combination make this malt appealing. It also needs some water and time to show more flavors. An interesting sample, but not a purchase candidate for me.

beautifully harmonious, forest honey, plum jam, caramel, spicy wood, deep and dark, I like the nose, with a few drops of water it becomes really sweet, now comes a light smoke and burnt caramel, the plums become red grapes, apricots, mango, continue to be beautiful
    • Taste
      84 84
relatively spicy in the mouth, the taste is slightly put on and flat, you have grape must, overripe fruit, slightly tart, forest honey again, with a little water even tart and slightly bitter, and some yellow fruit
    • Finish
      87 87
dark, leather notes, sweetness, quite old school and also with good length, tasty. the mouth is well filled
