Lovers of red-fruity sherry aromas and the much-described Ahojbrause will get their money's worth here. The Tomatin 2009 TWC is basically convincing across the board. At The Whisky Cask booth at The Village this sample was a very special dram and I can echo the statement made by the two boys as they quote many of their customers "This is the best Tomatin I've had in a long time". Tomatin is always such an up and down for me, sometimes you have a great bottling, sometimes it's a total disappointment. This one is convincing all along the line and offers a wonderful taste experience for a 12-year-old and just under 90 euros. Well done and I agree with colleague Macallan1968 and give a benevolent 90 points. Slainte!

Wonderfully fresh sherry notes, red fruits dominate, especially cherries. Toffee and caramel join in, accompanied by pleasant notes of nuts and fresh wood.

Here, too, the 55.3% really pushes you in the first few seconds, but quickly recedes into the background and gives way to fruity notes such as blackberries, raspberries, cherries and forest raspberries. In view of the relatively young age, not much can be expected from the wood, which is why the spicy notes are pretty much in the background

The fizzy notes described are now more noticeable than before. Friends of this taste will now get their money's worth. The Tomatin stays in the mouth for a surprisingly long time before slowly becoming drier.
