A very mature and aromatic whiskey that can almost justify its 300€ in the end.
It is more spicy than smoky and therefore also something for people with smoke or peat versions.

Lots of spice, malt and concentrated honey. A strong but pleasant dark wood. Fine caramel toffees and sweet-spicy herbs.
    • Taste

A wonderful oiliness and elegance. A basket of ripe fruit that explodes in the mouth. Pineapple, red apples and bananas.
Malt candies with vanilla and caramel. Quality honeys in a perfect mixture, most likely forest honey.
The aromas are strongly pushed forward, although there is no sharpness. Wonderful!

Medium to long with nuts, spice, herbs and a nice old wood. This is where the Laphroaig character comes out the most because he comes across as an old Laphroaig and that exit is great.

...Créme brûlée, juicy raisins, light pepper, initially faint wood notes and a slight sweetness with coconut biscuits. Then tobacco leaves with sweet smoke and cold ash. Also slightly after fresh hay and shortbread.
    • Taste

... immediately with a wood fire in the fireplace, minerally with vanilla and pipe tobacco. A heavy sweet with brown sugar dark caramel, creamy forest honey, maple syrup and fruit like gooseberry and chocolate. There is also espresso with cold ash and malt sweets.
    • Finish

...long, wonderfully complex, robust with a wonderful Islay impact. A real experience.

It's really, really, seldom good if you know how to take it, and that's not easy. You need at least 5 cl spread over 2 evenings and wait at least 45 minutes after pouring before tasting.
My tip is to just take a normal sip and put it in your mouth and just let it go and after a few seconds open your mouth slightly and let it breathe in a bit apply viscous old sweet. i love in

    Tip !
....Please let it rest in the glass for at least 3/4 hour no 1 hour after pouring it and if you put it in your mouth please just keep your lips closed this time and just let it stand in your mouth, no back and forth.
And the magic can begin the very heavy wood is simply lying on the tongue when the mouth is closed it becomes an old, fat berry compote like the one I had in my mouth for 28 years at Bushmills Madeira. Very very tasty.
And then mouth on the creamy woody very sweet like sweet wood root and clearly wet old musty wood
Is it good…..it tastes like freshly cut, sweet, juicy wood shavings, a bit of pine.
Very pungent on the nose due to the alcohol content, somewhat masking the aromas.

In the mouth the positive opposite horny horny horny Sorry. Like a really good herbal sweet full of harmony in the mouth. Great old blend definitely not over its time. Perfectly bottled for my taste. Thank you for letting me try such great drops.

A typical grain whiskey with intrusive alcohol on the nose at the beginning. Slightly more elegant over time, the smoke and ash impression is somewhat surprising. The interesting beetroot note on the palate and the berries on the finish provide variety. The bitterness in the finish is again typical of the grain. All in all a decent, interesting whisky. In no way worth the asking price of almost 400 euros per bottle. At best, age may be the justification, but can that be enough?

Solvents, pungent alcohol, some cigarette ash, spices, vanilla, sour citrus fruit, dust, later a hint of sulphur, sponge cake,
    • Taste
      87 87
Immediately spices, ash, smoke, light fruits, vanilla, beetroot, mustiness
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium-length, somewhat mouth-drying finish. Musty wood, berries, pepper, bitterness
