I have to try and find more vintage Ben Nevis to try in the future, and I can see why so many folks talk highly of older Ben Nevis bottlings.
The cask strength 52.1% ABV is apparent from the start. But I let it sit for a good 30 minutes, and it’s lessened dramtically. Pineapple, passion fruit, tropical bright notes! Sherry, something earthy, maybe stewed pears?
Ginger spice, immediate tropical, mango, passion fruit, classic sherry cask influence of stewed fruits. On the mid-palate, more ginger kick, this 52.1% ABV is present! But it dies down a bit after, notes of pineapple, more tropical as it goes to the finish.
Long and perfect , more lingering tropical passion fruit, cinnamon, warm spices, distant dark stone fruits, sweetness
