    Isle Of Jura 16 yo | 40% | 21 + 19 + 21 + 21 = 82pts
N: Gentle and fruity, honey, pineapple, banana, orange, basket of tropical fruits, light wood.
T: Nuts and fruits again, prunes and pineapple, somewhere far away from the fire and dried banana.
F: Short, light, airy, sweetness of fruit with cream, a little smoke.
B: Very light, partially felt as if diluted. A nice duet of wood and tropical fruits.

    • Nose
In the first moment, very little comes out of the glass. He is getting more intense. The nose is a bit "schnapsig" at the beginning then comes malt and cereals. The cereal note is getting stronger. A light sweet moves from behind through the glass. But nothing dominant. A little bit of woody lightning too.
    • Taste
The schnapsige I have in the taste. Likewise the cereal notes. The sweetness is felt only at the edges of the tongue. Otherwise, not much. Maybe he is even a little alcoholic.
    • Finish
In the finish, the spicy and the bitter beats from the barrel. But not very pleasant but rather long-hanging. The finish itself is rather short and dry.

super nose - on the palate for CS connoisseurs with its 40% just too weak - although he intercepts that quite well with its aromas
    • Nose
ripe oranges, plums, apricots - very fruity - with a touch waxy and then fresh limes - continue very fruity and noble especially for its price range - raisins, delicate oak with roasted hazelnuts, some herbaceous sap with a light bitter note, fresh sawn boards, a touch of floral notes
    • Taste
at first very thin and feeble - then tenderly bitter oak with some pine needle and resin, subtle sweetness with dark chocolate, getting drier and not so thin when you chew it, with the second sip of dates, oranges with orange oil and the bowl, laurel leaves , Mint a little cinnamon
    • Finish
dry, with light pepper - a little bit of wax, a lot of medium length and thus more than I expected from the weak start.

1st tasting: A powerful nose, rich, deep, lots of wood. A creamy mouth, but not too much, a lot of spices. The mouth is a little behind what the nose suggests, but the whole is of great quality. 2nd tasting: On the nose, already wood that gives the smile and orange zest quite pronounced. In the mouth, velvety texture but not full enough, the fault at 40 ° only. A little side lime that comes tickle, caramel and tons of wood. Average final in length. Enthusiasm 3/5

Suffers from the low abv on the nose and body, finish is suprisingly long and tickeling. A bit unbalanced though. Not that bad too.

I have to say I preferred this much more than the Superstition.  I’m not a fan of the rather ‘funky’ notes I usually get from Juras, but I don’t mind them here.  The age has definitely given this one some character, but the whole thing is brought down considerably by the low abv.  At cask strength, this one would be really interesting. Maybe I should be on the look out for some Jura IBs.

A highly common sweet & sour recipe, in chocolate & orange. Has a welcome peanut-angle for balance. Diluted to 40 % abv., so serious Jura fans go look for something stronger.
    • Nose
      Pleasant, yet mild.

Sherry, mint, chocolate, fresh fruit, orange sour. Hints of meat pop up once in a while.
    • Taste
Advertized as "Rich & Full Bodied". Stands at 40 % alcohol, so no body to speak of. Just seasoning.
      Doesn't hold up to water.
Orange sour, chocolate sweetness, honey, peanuts, expectorant.
    • Finish
A warm sensation, deriving from sourness, alcohol and some spices. Hard to find any smoke or peat. The peanuts linger and give another angle to the dram. Otherwise it would be just another orange chocolate recipe for senior whisky fans.

It is simple and simple, but very delicate and soft, with a perfect balance and good saturation for a minimum strength.
    • Nose
Fresh, open, carpentry, treated wood, window putty, smoked meat, wet wool.
    • Taste
Soft, sweet-oak, fondant, boiled condensed milk, fruit sweetness, light peppery wave.
    • Finish
Light pepper, sweet grapefruit, light bitterness, warm, warming; young bark.
