    This is different :0
The nose is so strong. Like lactic, metallic smoke. Cant find many things close to this.
Grassy, light, green fruits, some sweetness with brown sugar, honey and raisins.
    Different.

Bladnoch Alinta, Peated Release, 47% alc. Original bottling (2022). Maturation: Bourbon and PX sherry casks, each first fill.

Nose: Youthful peat smoke with fruit aromas. Mixed fruitcake with whipped cream comes to mind, canned tangerines, some pineapple, pear, vanilla pudding. Then comes the farm with hay, country air, leaf fire and cowshed, some charred plastic.

Palate: Again the fruitcake, kumquat and grenadine. There is also clear peat smoke with ash and beech smoke, vanilla pudding and some sugar beet syrup. I find pine needles, pine and thyme, some nutmeg and turmeric.

Finish: Short to medium length, continues as before, a mixture of various dried herbs becomes quite dominant Azu forest honey and various fruits.

Conclusion: already special, still looks very young. As a basis for more mature bottlings, I can really imagine this Bladnoch being bottled like this, but then it is still a bit unbalanced. 78/100 points (2022)

[Tried on the Tarona, Erfurt, April 23, 2022]
The taste of the malt is unfortunately very much determined by the alcohol. It looks very young, slightly metallic - although the smoke content doesn't help either. The latter is only slightly involved. What characterizes the malt in addition to the indicated notes is an intense, young malt note and then there are also hints of PX sherry notes in the finish. Typical Bladnoch notes cannot be identified in this bottling and the PLV is catastrophic.

C: This peated offering from Bladnoch is nice enough though it doesn’t do a great deal – in a similar ballpark to AnCnoc’s Rascan [WB], perhaps. It has no chance of competing with its neighbour on the day, Port Charlotte.
