Nose: First a nice sherry nose with raisins and dark berries, plus nutty milk chocolate and mild coffee aromas, and some moist tobacco is also part of the party. A slightly floral and sweet perfume note hovers in the background, which, however, does not appear obtrusive. The malt is rounded off by a dry and harmonious wood smoke note.
Palate: Raisins, blackberries and dates. In addition, the coffee aromas and some milk foam. The nut gets stronger, then strong winter spices follow, which let the oak come a little, but are not really bitter. The dryness of the nose comes back, seems a touch salty.
Finish: Long and pleasantly warming, molasses and raisins, tobacco and espresso. Towards the end with more oak wood.
Conclusion: A really good Bunnahabhain, which scores very highly with its beautiful sherry aromas and the round oak influence. 89/100 points (2015)
