    Enthusiasm: Nose 3/5 Mouth 4/5 Final 3/5
    Whiskey n ° 1365
    • Nose
Nose on the varnish drawing a little on ether, vanilla. A note of pulp that happily dissipates.
    • Taste
Very sweet on the palate, nice and velvety on vanilla. Relief.
    • Finish
      Final simple.

  2. Rom scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

Nose rather nice vanilla, coffee, praline and roasted but a volatile note of alcohol to burn a little when it is perceived. Mouth sweet and coffee, the middle brings a vegetal side and a bitter note very contained. Long enough on coffee and a little plum.

Many may find this Chita whisky much more enjoyable than I did, I suppose, and hence appraise it higher. Although don't get me wrong, it is a decent single grain - the quality is there for sure. Only it does not suit my taste really. It's a bit out of my line, simple as that.
    • Nose
Mixture (cough syrup?), rather saccharine, similar to rhum agricole, too sugary in fact, baklava, hint of vinegar, some greenery, aerosol (dichlorvos-like), marzipan, soufflé, "bird's milk" chocolates.
    • Taste
Clean and hot as well, quite rough, exceedingly sweet, cloyingly sweet rather. Sucrose, sugarcane juice?, muscovado, sugar beet, liquorice, a bitter edge there, plants, confection, golden syrup.
    • Finish
Here goes verdure, herb dryness, sorrel, wood-sour slightly, zest of lemon, then a little briny, with a touch of pickle, sour mandarins and orange. Citrussy warmth intensifies at the death.

Definitely a good whisky and an interesting experience to taste this Japanese grain whisky. For Scotch grain whisky it is said that it is only enjoyable, if it is really old (30-40 years). Therefore I could imagine that this Japanese grain whisky would gain a lot with increasing age as well.
    • Nose
Mellow, sweet and tasty. Starts with notes of varnish, barley sugar and artificial fruit flavors. After a few minutes it shifts more into vanilla and cereals, but the barley sugar keeps its dominating role.
    • Taste
Smooth and grainy with barley sugar. Suprisingly spicy with a sparkling freshness. Ginger, Almdudler lemonade (made from herbs), green pepper and of cause vanilla.
    • Finish
Rather long and flinty, leaving a slightly bitter-sweet mouth feeling behind, which reminds also of wet stones.
