Very bright, young and aggressive, with a lot of sherry. With water it becomes more calm, but also inferior.

The bull has squeezed into the fine dress and red wine in the glass - but the skull is skeletonized. The whisky has also created a fine, dark color coat. So let's see if he inspires with a fine dress or scares with a bony skull. Oh, actually it's about a Benrinnes that Signatory bottled at a young age of 10 and finished in 1st fill sherry butt for the Brühl whisky house. It represents the constellation Taurus in the whisky house's Zodiac Series.

    • Nose
In the nosing it is more the bony skull – there is no sweetness, there are no juicy fruits at first. Here is dusty dryness, spiciness and then there are a few dried, partially fermented fruits. And there are also dry sherry flavors. This is not the typical juicy-sweet Brühl whisky profile and makes this whisky a bit difficult - but also interesting.
    • Taste
The taste of the whisky is dry but not bitter. It really lacks the fruity aspects and the sweetness. Unfortunately, there is little that the whisky can offer instead. It is indeed like the scrawny skull of the bull and offers too little of the elegant lady underneath.
    • Finish
A dry, bulky whisky that also ends quite dusty with some wood, sandalwood and dry cinnamon bark.

This is not a palatable sipper, but a dry whisky that you do not immediately like. But who loves the lady with the bull skull at first sight. The whisky has the problem of many modern whiskys - it is too young and has to compensate with a finish. The fact that the whisky wasn't pimped up in a sticky wet treacle barrel speaks for itself. You can like this whisky - even if it's a bit more difficult.

There is an oloroso finish here at the start and this (quite tasty) dram shows me that sometimes a standard is nicer because it has a clear profile and stands for something.

The nose is sweet, nutty, the tasting sharper and drier. The finish sweet.

Here is the description of the Brühler whisky house:

Also from our Zodiac series, this 10-year-old Benrinnes presents himself in the sign of Taurus.
Well what should you say? The bull has lowered its horns and is going full throttle. Cherries, dark fruits, sherry, wonderful sweetness and marzipan storm out of the glass. The whole thing is strengthened on the palate by its intensive 57.4% cask strength. A young muscle man who knows exactly what he wants - namely to convince with his intensive sherry notes.
We couldn't have imagined a better whisky for this constellation ????
