My first note when I tried the sample:
Orkney 1999 ex bourbon
nose:
fresh fruit of the orchard (Williams pears, wine apples), some strawberries, some blackberries, dry, white wine, dry grass, varnish / solvent, baked apricot / peach, minerality, smoke, dusty carpentry shop.

Palate:
dry white wine, citrus (lemon peel, orange), dried apricot, some cardamom and white pepper, mint ?, honey, unripe walnut, inside of a leather bag, tobacco.

Finish:
long, slightly peppery, a bit of tannins, a little citrus, tobacco, mint
Mouthfeel is great, spreads wonderfully, pleasantly oily
as for me a banger! Great whisky
