    • Nose
Marinade, carpentry notes, green apple, fresh wood, plum sauce, dusty barn, formic acid, pomegranate juice, cocoa powder. 22
    • Taste
Medium-bodied, moderately sweet. Cinnamon and other spices, creamy caramel, lollipops, plum jam, red apples, unripe fruits, oak bitterness, woody tannins. 21
    • Finish
Medium in length, slightly astringent, tannic. 21
An interesting whiskey, not very varied and rich in ingredients, but tasty and drinkable. Balance 21
      Total 85

The nose is strange but I love it. I'm impressed with this stuff.
    • Nose
Hot dusty road, burning drill bits, paint, turpentine, cheap vanilla ice cream, polish, marmalade, ginger jam.
    • Taste
A big perfumy explosion. Classic rye, bursting with flavour.
    • Finish
Long with bright cereal notes and spikes of intensity.

Love the nose, clean, mint, caramel, cinnamon. Taste, molasses, vanilla, cocoa, smooth. Body, complex yet vibrant. Finish, exciting, the rye comes back big, bold, warming and after a couple drops of water really opens up nicely. Price is great

Love this Rye from David Perkins, Malt Advocate gave it a 95 pt score! I tend to agree however not to the same extent. It is really good though, make no mistake about that. The price is spectacular for this quality of whiskey. Great job, High West!!

I don't understand the hype over this whiskey. It is sickly sweet and sour at the same time, lacks any refinement or balance, and tastes like vodka mixed with tobacco juice, loads of dill pickle juice, and soggy rye bread. I found Rittenhouse Rye 100 proof to be better, and 1/2 the price.
    • Nose
      Rye Bread. Dill pickles!
    • Taste
Hot, sweet & sour, spicy (not in a friendly way)
    • Finish
Goes in hot, goes down hot.
