5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.80 points

  1. Campie scored this whisky 87 points Expert Junior

Nose: pear, apple, vanilla, honey, pine apple, mango, waxes.
Mouth: grassy, waxes, salty, sour dough, pine apple. With water: slightly bitter pear juice, tonic water.
    Finish: grassy, waxes, slight bitterness.
Comment: takes a long time to develop; the longer you wait, the better it gets.

A young and very pretty Clynelish who takes again the themes of the distillery.
    • Nose
Fresh and fragrant. Wax, marine varnish, fresh fruits, citrus fruits, vegetables, a little honey compete for our nostrils.
    • Taste
Freshness, purity and minerality. Notes of wax, candle, citrus fruit (lemons), floral herbs in large numbers (up to fennel), spices (ginger) explode in the mouth. The backdrop is adorned with fresh vanilla and honey fruits and a dry smoke veil.
    • Finish
Long, on a creamy fruity drying in a slight salty, liquorice and ashy bitterness.

Clynelish 1997/2010 13yo James Macarthur Old Masters 70cl 52.1% bourbon barrel # 4643 This is not as low as the first cup as it is Clynelish! Color: Modest taste like color for degrees. How about even Kinako Mochi? Nose: There is no disgusting feeling But there is a burning feeling, but I feel a sense of softness like a soft French toast, I can see and feel a sense of security in the gambling nature. : You can play in the sharpness of the glass honey. There is a citrus jewelry citrus system, is it like Bourbon Barrel? Milky and scorched char siou.Dry sweetness like light karaka (karakan) will occasionally become good sometimes.Body: Firm middleweight firmly.Taste: Bourbon barrel? A moderate condensation feeling. Also alcoholic feeling is also good.Arong alfa type Exa is also not.It is not easy to drink easily without taking moderate fruit feeling of banana or pineapple.Milky with astringent and moist like like green tea in thin glass I like it.Woody is weak or barely noticeable. What is this series? Is the overall picture well balanced and really smooth, is it truly Clynelish? Fiinish: Dailuaine A cheese cake that is as good as ordinary! It's pretty much like it.It is a juicy moist like a surprising stone grilled Bungo cattle. The delicious sweetness like a burned pumpkin looks ticky but rustic but it is delicious! Oily & salty that is going to be a habit is also pleasant Finish! Well, absolutely it is impossible to play the leading role in the second half of the game, it seems to be a necessity for the first couple or the middle fight. https://whisky2010.usukeba.com/u/whisky2010/1fyharse66d8aj

    Whiskyfun.com January 9, 2012:
Clynelish 13 yo 1997/2010 (52.1%, James MacArthur, Old Masters, bourbon, cask #4643)
James MacArthur had some extreme 1989 Clynelishes in the past, a bit
difficult. Let's check this recent one… Colour: white wine. Nose: same
raw, flinty and waxy profile as the 1998 that we just had. And just as
much shoe polish and walnut skin. Maybe also mothballs (just wee
touches). Mouth: perfect now. Big, with great balance and a lot of
phenols, waxes, polishes and salt. In short, very Clynelish. Finish:
long, pleasingly bitter, grassy and waxy. Salty aftertaste. Comments:
maybe not the easiest nose but the palate was pretty perfect. For lovers
    of the style! SGP:263 - 86 points.
