    I really expected it to be very spirit-like, but it isn’t. It has quite a lot of cask influence for such a young single malt. Very nice nose, although the taste remains somewhat behind. But not bad at all. Very nice to be able to taste such a young and above all surprising Linkwood!
    • Nose
      Powdering sugar. A hint of oatmeal and tea biscuits. Pears and red apples, but also unripe bananas and a hint of peaches. Some vanilla. And later also lemons in the back.
    • Taste
      Also oatmeal here but very in the back. Lots of pears too though. Powdering sugar and vanilla. And plenty of fennel. Slightly peppery, pink peppercorns. Also a touch of ginger.
    • Finish
      Mid-long and quite spicy, pink peppercorns mostly, but also pears and apples again.

    I didn't quite know what to expect from a 4-year-old Linkwood, but I'm mostly pleasantly surprised. The nose is actually attractive and well-rounded, while the palate could do with a little more depth. But overall a satisfactory pick by Torsten Paul Whisky Company.
    • Nose
      Fresh, rather fruity and positively approachable. Some gentle stone fruits, lots of stewed apples and pears. Also a few wet pebbles and a hoppy note, accompanied by vanilla extract and a touch of sandalwood. This does not disappoint.
    • Taste
      Creamy mouthfeel quickly followed by a rather spicy arrival. Think white pepper and ginger, as well as some nutmeg. There’s a subtle chalkiness accompanied by meringues and a touch of fennel and icing sugar. I would advise to not add water (it brings out more spices), but I’m not going to stop you if you want to.
    • Finish
      The fruits make an encore on the palate. Orchard fruits, and some Love Hearts. Medium in length.

    Surprisingly good for such a young Linkwood!
    the nose is the best feature, in the finish you can taste that it is a bit young and short

      lemon, yoghurt, fresh and fruity, some peaches and pears too. nothing too young or feisty.

      soft honey and vanilla, and quite some fresh citrus fruits. it's less round than the nose and feels a tad youngish.
    • Finish

      bit sweet, honey and sugar water, but also a bit hard and stale. here you can taste that is is on the younger side, but still nothing bad or unpleasant. Quite a good spirit this Linkwood
