Nose: Fruity and sweet. Fruit muesli, coconut flakes and pear, also a few grapes, a touch of papaya. Behind it I also find almonds, caramel and marzipan next to a slight ginger spiciness and pepper.
Palate: Fruity but less mature and slightly reserved. Slightly hard pear, dried apricots, peach, almonds and peanuts, caramel. Then marzipan and chocolate, towards the end black pepper and nutmeg.
Finish: Long and dry, in addition to a fruitier component, mustard and candied ginger with a longer spiciness, coffee with milk.
Conclusion: The nose suggests a fruity, drinkable whisky, but this Port Dundas takes a slightly different path on the palate. Interesting twist, if not easy. 84/100. Points (2022)
