A lot of smoke, more than standart Caol Ila. Also much sweetness like buttercookies, tofi, carmel. 59% vol. very good hide. many dry fruits and long lasting finish. Very good balanced and build like for this age.
    • Nose
smoke, tofi, carmel cookie, herbs, sea
    • Taste
sweetness carmel cookie, vanilia, little bit of pepper/chili, smoke, ground,
    • Finish
more dry, quite long; smoke, pepper, chili, wallnuts, dark chocolate

This 9-year-old Caol Ila is quite a multi-dimensional whisky, especially if we let it sit in a glass a bit and analyze it at intervals. Immediately after pouring, the aromas of peat smoke even float in the room, but after a while it calms down a bit, showing its first quite sweet and surprisingly gentle face resulting from the maturation in bourbon barrels. Over time, for a moment the finish in a sherry barrel comes to the fore, so that the vanilla-caramel sweetness returns, wrapped in aromatic smoke. It is very pleasant to smell, if, of course, we like the specific atmosphere of the island of Islay.
This is a quote and I agree with it.
