    Description

    Bart’s Blended Irish Whiskey

Bart’s Irish Whiskey is our first blended Whiskey release. A complex blend of 5 different Whiskies, we’ve called it after our late dad, Bart , as a lasting legacy to his memory.

Produced to our precise specification and bottled at our micro distillery in Lanesborough, Co Longford, Ireland

We’ve been on a tremendous journey over the last number of years, and individually and collectively we’ve missed his guiding input and influence, and most of all the fun he would have gotten from being involved in the thick of things. And all the while probably thinking we’re mad.

With Dad, problems were never problems, merely a series of puzzles to be solved, if you solved each one individually and then joined the answers together you solved the problem. Clocks were his fascination in latter years, and the ultimate manifestation of problem solving. He understood that each component, regardless of size, was an intrinsic part to making the clock work and keeping perfect time.

Likewise with this complex blended Whiskey which bears his name in perpetuity. Each constituent whiskey is as important as the next , and the sum of the parts is a perfectly balanced and outstanding Whiskey.

And so it should be, as rightful testament to our dad , Bart Clancy. Like all of our Whiskies, Bart’s is a non chill-filtered whiskey with no added colour.

Nose: Young, sweet, with lemony citrus. It's moderately fatty, with a mix of chocolate, ginger and cinnamon, but with a dominance of cinnamon. When we know that this whiskey goes through barrels of Rye, we dig and we indeed find a small side of stale bread, spices... but blind to be honest, not sure that I find all that in first nose.

Mouth: It goes straight to the point! While retaining creaminess, there are citrus fruits to provide more variety. It is indeed more tangy, but above all progressively more bitter. Well it's young, there are probably small adjustments that could make it more balanced, because it goes a little quickly between the fruity and fatty aspect to the bitterness, the spices. Nevertheless, it remains a correct product, which will also work very well as a base for a highball for example.

Final: The bitterness will dominate, we are clearly on the lime zest, the tea leaf. Cinnamon, hot spices.

Smooth with apple, fruity, grass notes, lightly spirited, with delicate smoke on aftertaste.
