Relatively dry smoke, but the dirty thing I am used to from Ledaig is completely missing here. Then immediately nuts, honey and raisins, berry compote and butter. The alcohol is very well integrated.

Now relatively intense alcohol, the PX Sherry is clear! The typical cowshed cannot be found here either! Yes, smoke, but more of a smoldering campfire. Creamy, with sweet and sour berries, chocolate and lots of black pepper. Finally, light seasoning and herbs.
    • Finish
      88 88
Long and dry, more pepper, nuts and raisins, some cocoa powder and tobacco

  2. Mondrian scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

Not only quite cautious for a Ledaig, otherwise only a relatively light smoky note, in addition fresh and lemony, almost a summer Ledaig ...
The distillery character comes through in the mouth, especially if you know sherry ledaigs. Still less penetrative than some other bastards from Tobermory, instead strong sweetness and an initially bitter, then rather leathery note from the PX barrel. Liquorice in the beginning, dry in the finish, fireplace smoke. The acid that Ledaigs like to have from sherry casks is completely absent. If you know, you can see the finish on top of the base whisky relatively clearly (so it's not a miracle of maturation), but it's still fun.
Great ledaig, if not the ham that is usually found in sherry ledaigs.

No frills, but overall a solid molt. I especially note the softness, with barrel speeds it is perceived very comfortably.
    • Nose
Open, soft. Raw metal, earthy peat tones, milk chocolate, cinnamon, burnt wood chips.
    • Taste
Lightly smoked jerky, strong green tea, hints of ripe berries, slight sourness.
    • Finish
      .
