Haven't had a revival in the glass for a long time. Now the 2022 bottle is freshly opened. But what I have in my nose here is not quite what I think it is remembered for, even for the 2018 and later batches. Sweet as remembered, but very overripe fruit and possibly even a hint of sulphur, neither matchstick nor gum, but a little overcooked vegetables.
In the mouth it then comes closer to the old bottlings, but in my opinion a little "thinner", ie a slightly lower intensity. Still a delicious malt, but no longer an 89/90 point whisky like in 2014/15. And unfortunately not as high as in 2018/19.
