    Glengoyne 10 years, original bottling (version until 2013); 40% alc .;
    Region: Highlands, Scotland.

    Nose: Malty and fresh mown grass, green apples, light pears and some caramel. Next comes a light but rather sweet vanilla note.
    ...
    Palate: Slightly oily but very clean. Apples and nuts, maybe almonds. No oak, very simple but also very harmonious and round.

    Finish: Medium long with malt and a light sweetness. Exudes a touch of warmth.

    Conclusion: A standard that has its strengths and its weaknesses. Fine single malt for beginners.

    74/100 points (tasted 2013, approx. 25 €)

    Note: the "new" 10-year-old is stored exclusively in ex-sherry casks and is said to be a bit more complex. Glengoyne 10 years, original bottling (version until 2013); 40% alc .;
