Whisky Reviews for Glengoyne 10-year-old
27 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 78.26 points
- Quite a simple no nonsense whisky, not proclaiming to be anything it isn't and honest in its simplicity.
Neat - Alcohol and over ripe bananas
With a few drops of water - the Alcohol has subdued, bananas and a trace of figs, becoming more mellow with a faint forest pine aroma
Overall - simplistic and suits a few drops of water to calm the alcohol and release what is masked by it
Neat - Alcohol slightly overwhelming, the Banana aroma is there with a slight hint of wood and a light touch of burnt toffee
With drops of water - really smooth's out with a body like liquid gold. the banana intensity is reduced and there is a sweetness to the wood elements ( like a lollipop stick )
taken neat the finish is pleasant and mellow but uncomplicated, with a few drops of water it really releases the underlying flavours
- Tasting notes further down!
- A nice soft whisky with a very good price / performance ratio. Unfortunately, the departure is a bit too short.
Fruity, floral with a hint of caramel.
Very round and soft with chocolate and caramel taste.
- balanced, slight alcohol, sweet, toasty pear, wood, will benefit greatly from maturation. i will definitely get the 17 or 18 years
