Very good for mixing. Occasionally, pure over ice

Fruitier and less moldy than a previous batch I did encounter years ago. The nose is simple, but pleasantly fruity and it's pretty palatable as a sipper. No finish whatsoever, but for €25 this is quite an ok deal.

You can tell it's young, very young. Overrated

Flowers, pears, apples with a hint of cinnamon, some citrus fruit, vanilla and cornflakes.
I think the nose is quite okay and has more to offer than I thought beforehand.
    • Taste
      78 78
Fairly sharp and fruity with grapefruit, pear, apple, banana and a trace of vanilla and some pepper.
    • Finish
      76 76
Some pears and citrus fruit remain behind.
      Rather short and flat.

The nose was surprising, then it went down a bit.
This whiskey in itself is fine to drink pure and certainly not bad, perfect for when you've already had a few beers or if you want something simple where you don't want to challenge your taste buds too much.

Matured in 1-st fill ex-bourbon casks. Coloured, chill-filtered. Midsize straight primary, irregular slow secondary legs. Water pushes sweet maltiness further to the fore. Good value for the price.
    • Nose
Restrained initially. Cereal: malty, biscuits, barley sugar. Fruity: fresh fruits, citrus: lemon, tangerine. Sweet: caramel, vanilla, honey. Spicy: pepper, cinnamon. Woody: charred and toasted oak. Floral notes: hay, heather. Light creamy and herbal notes: especially on the empty glass. Earthy: light petrol notes. Crisp, rich, and full. Good transition between senses. Drifting: From restrained to rich malty forward.
    • Taste
Sweet on the arrival: caramel, vanilla, honey. Develops fresh fruits: green apple, citrus and berries. Lightly salted caramel on the midpalate. Malty. Spicy: pepper. Oily. Light bitter notes on the sides.
    • Finish
Medium: malty, spicy: vanilla, pepper. Fruity: stone fruit notes. Woody: tannins from the oak. Lingering astringent notes. Still pleasant.

A clearly noticeable young blend. Nothing special and too metallic for my taste.
    • Nose
      Vanilla, banana, malty-spicy, alcoholic
    • Taste
      metallic, covers the tongue, spicy
    • Finish
      Short, slightly dry and metallic

    • Taste
Pretty sweet. Lots of caramel and vanilla. A trace of fresh fruit.
    • Finish

Enjoyable every day whisky, better from some single malts and in a good price.

    • Taste

    • Finish

My favorite blended scotch whisky, and one of my go-to whiskies for the money.
Pleasant throughout, starts out with clean fruit: mellow orange citrus and cider apples with cinnamon coming to the fore as the glass drains.

Flavors are well blended and no individual part is too forward. Toward the middle of the glass the flavors may numb away to just 'scotch'.

Eminently drinkable and rarely hot. Can take a few drops of water but any more will wash it out. At the price point there is no shame in mixing it, either.
