    Lucas

Drinks Shop Bams in the heart of Maastricht, Holland, is led by the ever sympathetic Martijn Bams, now the third generation. He selected this single cask and had it bottled at cask strength, especially for his shop. It concerns teenage a Glen Elgin. According to the back label, it was bottled in honor of Lucas' birth on July 15, 2021. Congratulations, Martijn & Nadia!

The nose can only be discovered gradually, but with some patience you will be rewarded with notes of peach, green apples and a hint of unripe pineapple. Some lemongrass in the background, something of mango and a lot of vanilla. Very accessible and spring fresh.

Good body. We go from spring to summer (very appropriate given Lucas' date of birth). Apples and pears, but also a lot of citrus and some citric acid sweets, pineapple and oranges. Quite a bit of honey, now. Some rhubarb jam (I love it). Very summery and a bit sweet. I'm a fan.

The finish is nice and long and spicy warm. Pineapple on the deathbed, sprinkled with some cinnamon and black pepper.

A summery, sweet young Glen Elgin. I assume that Martijn and Nadia have kept a few bottles for the 18th birthday of their little one. The rest is still available from Maarten in his shop for 60 EUR. Recommended! Benny J was again the supplier of the sample, thanks for that!

    Odor:
The nose is sweet and fruity, tropical fruit breaks through slowly. Citrus, pineapple, mango.
Ripe mango that initially lasts longer. This is followed by clean aromas of early ripe apples, grains and, very far, something grassy.

    Taste:
Some sweet summer fruit, pear, apple, a little citrus, honey, mild vanilla and some nuttyness in the background. oily and creamy, ripe apples, pear, peach, orange and sweet honey.

    Aftertaste:
The finish is long and warm. Honeysweet on pineapple, cinnamon and oak
