While I can't see the unique contribution of this wood to the maturation of this whiskey (there's no comparative data), it's delicious.
Sweet and rich with overripe blackberries, black cherries, plums and red grapes. Freshly grated ginger, rooibos tea. The fruits are intense and penetrating, making the nose bold and creamy. Cream chocolate, nougat.
Strong and spicy attack. Here, too, there is a lot of fruit in the form of ripe plums, blackberries, blueberries and cherries, the strong spiciness ensures that the fruit notes remain natural and do not become artificial. Toffee and marzipan, cocoa powder, some menthol. A pleasant dryness spreads relatively quickly.
A long finish, thanks to the fruit notes that are still present, the spiciness that persists and the woody dryness.
