The Halloween single malt of the A Dream of Scotland series by the Brühler whisky house appeared too late for the festival of the pumpkin monsters. A 13-year-old Port Charlotte and Bordeaux Grand Cru finish will definitely be a festive whisky. So it could also be something for Christmas. The color of this whisky is correspondingly red gold.
    • Nose
This is not clean, ashy smoke, here it smokes, here it smokes, here moist seaweed lies on the embers. This is followed by sweet, dark-fruity aromas that are reminiscent of heavy red wine. Alcohol is not present on the nose.

This is a mature whisky with heavy, sweet aromas, dark chocolate mousse with blackberry syrup and red wine, seasoned with a small dash of cough syrup and candied cherries.
    • Taste
Despite 55.1% vol. the whisky doesn't need any water, nothing burns or tingles here, nothing is spicy here, the alcohol only brings strength and weight. This is undoubtedly a holiday whisky that can persist after the heavy Christmas meal. The smoke opens the taste spot pourri with maritime smoke. Then comes the red wine cream with dark chocolate and thickened cherries, cranberries and blueberries.
    • Finish
The smoke remains present in the mouth with chocolaty fruity notes. Tart chocolate with lots of cocoa, which is filled with a smoked forest fruit jam.

This is a dessert whisky that can be enjoyed with heavy alcohol without any further dilution, which is sweet but not sugary, reminiscent of a deep, dark red wine that is heavy and dry - but not astringent or even bitter. Here the sweetness is contrasted with sufficiently deep, fruity-tart aromas. Delicious!
