Quite an interesting CI profile, almost floral industrial peat, engine oil, citrus, butter and spices, still very nice

  2. whiskystore scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Some citric fruit notes with the coastal and peat, spice and slightly winey with vater.
    Thanks lincolnimp.

Really good balance between cask and distillate. Great Caol Ila.

Creamy and peaty, just like Lincolnimp said. Sea salt, wet rocks, fresh lemon juice, buttered toast, nettles. Fruits are in the background, with subtle hints of mango and grapefruit.

Fizzy and peppery. Peat, lemon juice, cream, pepper, some honeyed fruits. Benefits from water - more fruitiness.

Creamy, peaty, slightly fruity with apples, a little grapefruit, lime, some peach maybe. Pepper, some fresh menthol, honey.

This is a great whisky to play around with water, which i will enjoy doing.
The palate is a little behind the nose but still very good.
An excellent cask selection, well done.

Lovely, a creamy peat soup, this is not in your face sharp nose tingling peat.
The peat mixes with coastal sea notes, rock pools, sea salt, nettle leaves (never had this in whisky before)
After a few minutes, buttered brown toast, warm pastry.
After a few more minutes, wet pebbles, putty and finally warm Yorkshire puddings and lemon juice.
what a weird and wonderful concoction of aromas, I love it.

The palate is fizzy with a little water added and creamy with the peat taking centre stage and what fruit there is is pushed away.
A very nice mouthfeel but more fruit is needed.
The balance is good, fizzy sherbet, lemon, hint of lime and then a creamy note mixes with the peat which is really nice.
Adding a few more drops of water is recommended as some sweeter fruit comes in , fresh pineapple, lemon marmalade and a faint hint of white pepper spice.
i think the balance is pretty good.

This is where it picks up marks, long warming, and slightly spicy, leaves your mouth watering.

I will do a full review soon, the nose neat is lovely but the palate needs a little water.
