Whisky Reviews for A Secret Speyside Distillery 2007 BR

- The initial price was about 105€
- No grade.
The sparrows at the Bottle Market in Bremen whistled from the rooftops that we have a MACALLAN in our glass!
- 65.1%? Ah yes, that's quite a high alcohol content which suggests Glenrothes or Glenlivet, but who knows?
On the other hand, a German news channel writes: "... that balances dried fruit, spice and a hint of smoke behind a deeply dark facade." A hint of smoke?
Of course, there are rumors that it's a Macallan. That surprises me after all, because as far as I know, Macallan sets a "Filling Strength" of 63.5% vol. But there are actually a few official Macallans ("Exceptional Single Casks") that have been bottled over 63.5%. So what.
Incidentally, on the day it was first issued, the bottle was offered for EUR 110 or EUR 160.
- Very strong, but also an absolute delight with enough water.
The issue price of 105 € is an outstanding PLV, especially because you can follow the MacAllen rumor in terms of taste.
You should definitely buy it for a fair price.
