Whisky Reviews for A Secret Speyside 2007 BR

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.00 points

  1. RhysB scored this whisky 88 points Newbie

Nose - Treacle, blackberry preserve, leather bound books, musty/wet spanish casks and voluminous malt spill from the glass. Strawberries and cream, dirty sherry, warm spices, depth and ABV punch.

Palate - chewy and deep, black pepper, pan charred spices, liquorice, orange blossoms, multifaceted - Figs, into fresh berries, into dark fruits, into lollies. HUGE amount of lush oils to coat the pie hole which is such a nice compliment to the otherwise dryer expectations.

Finish - loads of burnt sugar and honey, oak and oil, jam, nice and round finish, not super dry as expected. Medium finish makes you reach for another swig.

Overall - brilliant balance of cask and spirit here, BIG and beefy, sweet and rich, it’s a quintessential Sherry BOMB that for the age, being a single cask and price is EXCEPTIONAL value.
