Nose: What an aroma. At the beginning in the Glencairn it was quite restrained, but already very fruity, a wonderful aroma of light, tropical and tropical fruits of all kinds unfolds in the 1920 Blender's glass. Anyone who appreciates the Redbreast 21 is at the right address here, because the Direction is a similar one only with less seasoning. Lively fresh lychee, star fruit, pineapple, honeydew melon, ripe lemon romp around together with a touch of coconut as a supporting actor. Vanilla and wood notes are also part of the game, but are wonderfully interwoven. After 15 minutes in the glass, light and darker fruits such as apricots and raspberries appear and a few bitter notes appear.

Taste: Rarely does one have such a full and intense mouthfeel despite just 40.3% vol. Interestingly, the nose is reproduced almost exactly. There are light fruits together with typical grain notes and very timid wood, which is actually surprising after 46 years in the barrel. In addition, vanilla, coconut and some milk chocolate come into their own on the tongue. I think a little of mint tea and some forest honey with it. Very multifaceted.

Finish: Long-lasting fruity, velvety with a handful of sawdust and a hint of juniper.

Conclusion: A great grain with a really old age. If you like light-fruity whiskeys, you've come to the right place. The Cameronbridge impresses with elegance and diversity across the board. The only drawback is that it should be enjoyed with relatively large sips, as it can then fully play out its entire bouquet. There should also be room for this old grain in the glass.
