I really love bourbon casks from distilleries, which are famous for their sherry casks (Glenfarclas, Glengoyne). Especially the nose is lovely. At the beginning I was really enthusiastic about this whisky but after a while this enthusiasm was reduced a little bit.

Intensive and beautiful nose - very fruity (overripe bananas, mirabelles) and plenty of fudge from the bourbon cask. After a while the fruity notes take a step back and dry oaky notes and wet bark come to the fore.

Mellow, surprisingly light and dry. The oak is more obvious now than on the nose without becoming unpleasant. Concentrated cold black tea, some herbs and small amounts of toffee. Hints of oranges.

Long and pleasant on oaky notes.
