Whisky Reviews for Laphroaig 1998 SV
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.65 points
- Bit of a closed nose but then oily and rich with that smoky fruit goodness.
- Very balanced for a young sherried laphroaig, slightly metallic, quite enjoyable
- oily peat, we are on a distillery islay +++!
peat, wood, crushed almond
cooked citrus fruits (lemon and tangerine !!)
a little spice!
heat that floods the palace!
a woody caramelized first, then strong enough spices, herbs too and peat in return, fat, liquorice, the fruits are cooked!
the wood is present, almost amazing for an islay
medium, long enough, on wood and peat and ash too,
almost bizarre scents for an 11 year old, as if there was a 10ne more years.
