    Magnificent kavalan, reminiscent of an old Scottish sherry.
    • Nose
      We start directly on the big precious wood.
      Molasses, fatty leather, caramel, light cocoa powder.
      Fresh raspberry.
      Shiso leaf.
    • Taste
      On the palate, we start with precious wood directly, with a good dose of varnish.
      Rancio, red fruit vinegar.
      Pepper, greasy leather.
      Cinnamon, balsamic.
      Light fresh mint.
    • Finish
      Long finish on fresh fruit (strawberry, raspberry), noble wood, tannins, molasses, well-made caramel.

    Less complex than I expected, very intense on the wood despite prolonged opening (the water lightens the wood but dries it all out). Exuberant in all its aromas. Well made, but too much wood for my taste.
    • Nose
      Intense, powerful and concentrated nose on wood (oak and pine), espresso, prune liqueur and raisins. The opening barely softened it. Lots of caramelized nuts. Acid hint of balsamic vinegar.
    • Taste
      Mouth very concentrated on a syrup of wood with a real acidity of balsamic vinegar. Very rich and concentrated espresso. Well-marked spices with a lot of pepper, cinnamon and also a ginger side that stings on the finish. Walnut and prune juice.
    • Finish
      Final as intense as the rest, very long on fresher, minty notes. Balsamic caramel. Very light force pencil lead.

    On the nose, lots of nuts and coffee, but also raspberry vinegar and blackberry jam. Maybe a little menthol? Quite complex I find. A little gunpowder that disappears with the opening.
    On the palate, the woodiness is more marked with some tannins. But it remains rather greedy and finally quite fresh, far from the nag side of certain Kavalan.
