I was pretty nervous about this purchase. I was really interested in trying a rice whisky, but had heard mixed things. I don't know how this compares to any other rice whisky, but it turns out this one, at least, is up my alley. Phew! (It was a pricey purchase, but worth it).

It has a rich, old, elegance in the nose. Plums, Cadbury's Crunchie caramel, old Cognac (like my 50 year old Montifaud, which also has red and yellow apples).

I love it! Same notes as the nose (though I'm not sure the plums are there), plus refined shochu, Japanese pepper, some nice toasted oak, and rice cakes.

Cherry blossoms, some kind of elegant tea with some cream and honey, red and yellow apple sauce, and peppermint candies (the white ones with the red Zebra-like stripes).
