    • Nose
      87 87
Mossy wet wood, smoke, seaweed, mineral or marble specifically, then covered by butter cookies. Spring onion pancake, followed by sweet yellow pomelo and a bit of blackcurrant. Picked up the glass again, brine became obvious, salty and coastal is what people like to call it. Camphor after a couple of sips. Cigarette butts from the emptied glass.
    • Taste
      88 88
Asian pear juice that's smoked and a bit vegetal. Yellow pomelo, a splash of citrus zest, ash, burnt wet wood that's not bitter.
    • Finish
      87 87
Sweet and vegetal, smoked beetroot, wet charcoal, herbs like thyme, finally slightly burnt hay and Indian jujube.

on the 2nd Laphroaig and Highland Malt version here!
    nose:
a little lemon, iodine, the peat present but a little behind, also sweet
    mouth:
on fresh sweet fruit, on fine but marked peat
the sweetness of juice, honey, in short, it's classy but it still lacks a bit of singularity, in fact it makes sense since it's a blended
the least, we lose the markers
the more, we can 'sip' without thinking too much about what is in the glass!
    final:
on the same scents, without waves!
    good but consensual!
maybe before the emergence of single malts it would have exploded positively !!

It is very tasty. I just don't quite get what the point of blending this is. It tastes like a solid Laphi to me. I would not have been able to assign another distillery. Perhaps because of the felt, sweetish lightness that displaces the peat and smoky notes from the nose in the finish - 87/100. Technically probably either significantly less or significantly more, if I just didn't understand it.

The Nectar, the name sounds seductive. I had never heard of this combination before, now I'm really excited.
Friday night, laid off work and as the second dram this prime example of Vatting in which the two characters are clearly separated.

N - a wonderful nose, in my opinion the heart of this whiskey. Fine, deep sweet smoke, but by no means a monster. Decent jodig. The herbs follow immediately, accompanied by dark chocolate, coffee grounds and black tea. Great interplay of aromas over a wood fire

M - creamy texture, oily, alcohol well integrated. Some pepper with tea leaves and coffee. Decent smoke, salt. Delicious and sweet at the same time. Some embers remain on the tongue, which one would like to extinguish immediately with the same malt.

Pleasant interplay of the Highlanders and Laphroaigs. Real fun.

This is a great release! It is quite adventurous, not very complex, but very quaffable.

The nose is beautifully fragrant, fruits covered in cane sugar, baked over the bonfire.

In mouth, it tells a different story though. Peat and iodine is very dominant and makes you wonder where the fragrant and gentle aromas from the nose are. There is a hint of honey, fresh fruit and mint.

Finish delivers typical sherry notes of spice, toffee, chocolate and a generous portion of peat.

We have already emptied 3 bottles…
