Very pleasant whisky, a nice mixture of red fruitiness and smoke. Full bodied, good Kilchoman for sure.

Very nice, sweet smoke, with some red fruitiness. Roasted meat. Berries. In time the nose gets more intense, pretty some alcohol punch, but not disturbing.

Sal ammoniac initially, licoroce. Plums. Spicy, pepper. Sweet smoke. Pretty powerful. Raisins.

Smooth now, but more bitter smoke now, with fruitiness. Oranges, some red fruits, sweet smoke later on. Pretty long finish, with some chocolate and tobacco.

This is a fairly young Kilchoman, although 8 years is currently quite old for a Kilchoman but it remains a young whisky, the quarter cask finish on port does allow for more maturation but development I can't detect yet, which I don't either understand those quarter port casks… normally port ripens on port pipes and not on those small casks… so they have been messed with… anyway..

This is a whisky that you have to sip very slowly to get the most out of it by far. And it arrives surprisingly nice and sweet
    • Nose
Beautifully interwoven red fruit through the peat, nicely balanced, strawberry, cherry, raspberry
    • Taste
Little pepper with red fruit such as strawberry, raspberry kere under the cover of peat
    • Finish
Relatively short and peppery, later softer and sweeter… the whisky should have a few drops of water
